I am a 17 year old girl/ Junior in HS from Colorado! I moved to Tennessee this summer and have had a really hard time fitting in at school. I have been a section leader for the last 3 years, as well as been involved in multiple honor choirs.Choir is my safe space and the way I express myself. No matter where I am singing is something at has always made me feel welcome. Singing is me.

My greatest strength is how much I care about people. I am always trying to help someone in some way, whether it's cooking dinner, helping with math homework, or even just getting someone a slice of pizza I always want to help.

What is your greatest weakness, and why?

My greatest weakness is my emotions go from 0-100 really fast. This is my greatest weakness, because I don't always have the best reaction to a situation.

What skills do you need to learn to turn your greatest weakness into your greatest strength?

The skills I need to turn my greatest weakness into my greatest strength are a better control on my emotion gauge. Reading a situation. My emotions are a part of me, I just need to learn the best way to use them.

What is the biggest challenge you have overcome, and what did you learn from that?

The biggest challenge I have overcome is making a move from Colorado to Tennessee, because I had to conpletely start over. I learned that just because something is scary, it doesn't mean that its a reason to try any less.

Why do you deserve this award?

I deserve this award, because I know the positive impact singing and acting has had on my life. These have been such a big part of my life. Not only will I be enchanted by all things broadway, I will also use this as a learning opportunity in one of the most prestigious art platforms in the world.

Who has been a role model for you, and why?

My sister Ashley is a role model for me, because she has learned to look for the good in every situation. She has had a lot of things thrown her way and she is only 21 years old. She is managing 3 big diseases, 2 jobs, ans is a full-time college student. She is so kind and wonderful.

What is the biggest mistake you made, and what have you learned from that mistake?

The biggest mistake I have made was jumping off a retaining wall onto a sloped area of grass. I broke both my ankle joints and had to get 5 screws a plate drilled into my bones. This mistake lead to a lot of feet problems for me.

My own definition of being a humble person is not bragging about your talents, but building up others, not yourself.

Servant leadership is a leader who isn't a dictator, but is there to serve their people, not climb over them for their own gain.
