Tell us about yourself.
I am a musically bound student and have been playing piano since I was 4 and have been in choir for 7 years. Also, I have been dancing since I was four and I have been an honors student since I was in elementary.
What is your greatest strength, and why?
The ability to comprehend music and the ability to learn efficiently.
What is your greatest weakness, and why?
Breath support while singing because singing notes like tied while notes can be very difficult especially when notes are higher along the treble clef.
What skills do you need to learn to turn your greatest weakness into your greatest strength?
Work on sitting correctly so my diaphragm is not compressed and to breathe as much air into my lungs as possible. Also, opening my mouth bigger than I usually do because that helps with higher and longer note values.
What is the biggest challenge you have overcome, and what did you learn from that?
Singing higher notes, I learned that I need to open my mouth more to allow more air to help me sing certain higher notes.
Why do you deserve this award?
Although I may not be the most musically student, I have been able to be apart of many experiences such as singing with college choirs and learned many lessons from singing with my choir and other choirs.
Who has been a role model for you, and why?
Mr.Collins, my choir teacher, because he has taught me some of the most important things about music and has taught me how to sing correctly. Also, he has given me the ability to be apart of his choir and other choirs as well as giving me the opportunity to be his student director as well as introducing different types of music that the world has to offer.
What is the biggest mistake you made, and what have you learned from that mistake?
Messing up in a dance routine. I learned that I am not a perfect human and learned that I always have something to work on no matter what subject it is.
What activities are you involved in?
Select Choir Dance (at two different places) Beta Club National Honors Society Science Club Mu Alpha Theta Piano
How are you giving back to others?
By offering my singing abilities and allowing others to hear me sing. Also, I love to volunteer when I have the opportunity.
Tell us about a personal achievement that makes you proud, and what you learned from that achievement?
An award at my dance studio, the 110% award, because I learned that I am a hard worker and I am recognized as a hard worker. Also, being student director of my choir, because I was recognized to have the ability to be student director and I am recognized to be a leader in choir.
How do you define being a humble person?
Worrying about others before myself. I care very much about my friends and families that sometimes I forgot to take care of myself.
How do you define servant leadership?
Being able to lead others and hold a leadership slot within a group. For example, I am the choir student director at Station Camp High School.
Is there anything else we should know about you?
I’ve been an arts student since I was young and have appreciated the arts for a very long time.
